Transfer students (2 candidates, 1 seat):
Arsany (Michae)l Mason ’26:
Did you know that fewer than 10% of Mammoths are transfer students? We may be small in number, but our backgrounds and experiences are vast. As Transfer Student Representative, my goal is to ensure the voices of Amherst College’s Transfer and Veteran students are heard. In student government at my previous college, I dedicated myself to empowering the disenfranchised. From helping establish a peer-mentoring program to (literally) walking a mile in her shoes, I enthusiastically stood up, spoke out, and took action. At Amherst, I hope to serve the Mammoth community as a keen advocate, proactive problem-solver, and trusted friend.
Katia Peel ’27:
As Transfer Senator, I will focus on improving access to resources and services that directly impact transfer students. My mission is to ensure that transfer students have the support they need to navigate their transition smoothly. I plan to advocate for better resource accessibility, organize events tailored to transfers, and push for equitable budget allocations that enhance the transfer experience. By working closely with fellow transfers, I will ensure that our unique needs are addressed, fostering a stronger sense of community and ensuring that transfer voices are heard and prioritized in decision-making processes.
