Class of 2025 (2 candidates, 1 seat):
Rachel Skoler ’25
Hi everyone, my name is Rachel, and I’m running for Senate for the class of 2025. I’m a senior majoring in sexuality, women’s, and gender studies, and I’m passionate about supporting student artists. As a senator, I want to ensure they receive the financial and structural resources they need to thrive. Additionally, I want to make sure we seniors have an amazing last semester. I’d love to help organize the rave and make our final months at Amherst unforgettable. With your support, I hope to make this year truly special for all of us. Thank you!
Luke Munch ’25
I am running for senate because I want Senate to have a more meaningful and visible impact on the Amherst student body. Too often have criticisms about Amherst fallen on deaf ears with no follow-up action. Any problems or inefficiencies involving Amherst’s administration require an adequate explanation or solution. Increasing Senate transparency is my key goal, and I hope my time on Senate will stimulate a stronger bond and understanding between the Amherst students and the Senate. Thank you for your consideration.
Class of 2026 (4 candidates, 4 seats):
Chloe Yim ’26
Hi, my name is Chloe Yim, and I am excited to run for reelection as a class of 2026 senator. Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of representing our class and working to build a more engaged and inclusive campus community. Being a part of Senate has given me the valuable experience of building relationships with peers from different backgrounds, experiences, and passions. I hope to make the benefits of such spaces of connection and fun widely available on campus. If reelected, I will continue to advocate for initiatives that foster inclusivity and strengthen student engagement.
Rachel Howell ’26
I’m a double major in neuroscience and law, jurisprudence, and social thought. I'm a coxswain for the crew team, and e-board member for The Neural Network and The Sustainable Solutions Lab. Through these interests, I interact daily with a diverse cross-section of our campus community and would be well-positioned to advocate for the many interests of the student body. If elected, I would join the Sustainability Committee. Additionally I would like to work to increase community between majors and departments as a way for students to work together in their coursework as well as support each other's career goals.
Kaili Maurice ’26
Hi, I’m Kaili. I’m a junior chemistry major on the pre-medical track. I am part of the women’s crew team and on the e-board of Geologists Underrepresented at Amherst College (GUAC). At Amherst, I have worked in an environmental science lab which has led me to be interested in joining the Sustainability Committee. I have also worked at the Beneski Museum for the past three years, which has brought me closer to the local community. I hope to work on creating a closer bond between Amherst students and the local community by planning fun campus events that can bridge ...
Daniel Fleer ’26
Hello I’m running for Senate vote for me.
Class of 2027 (7 candidates, 2 seats):
Isabella DePreist-Sullivan ’27
Hi! My name is Isabella DePreist-Sullivan, and these are the reasons why I’d love to be your senator. First, I bring diverse perspectives that reflect many facets of the student body. As a political science and physics major, I understand both the humanities and STEM experience at Amherst. As a member of the crew team, I’m a student-athlete but also not a member of a varsity sports team. Second, I am excited to contribute to the work that the AAS is already doing and lend my problem-solving and creativity to future projects — such as planning more campus-wide events ...
Ventura Garcia-Perez ’27E
Hello everyone! My name is Ventura; I’m a co-chair for La Causa.
I’m running for senate because I’m passionate about serving our most vulnerable student populations. As a result of the current political landscape, which has created nationwide fear and concern for various individuals, we need to raise awareness and provide services for our students. My mission is to support initiatives that advocate and serve our student body.
As a Latinx student, I’m here to give a voice in the senate for our community, ensuring that we have a diverse AAS that is representative of our student population.
Lia Miller ’27
I’m excited to run for the Amherst Senate, representing the class of 2027. I’m eager to bring my experience as co-president of the Sustainable Solutions Lab to get things done. I will advocate for more equitable club funding and improve the student input system for AAS meetings, ensuring that all student concerns and ideas are heard. I will also push for more community-wide events and enhance existing ones, like recreational sports tournaments, raves, and special food nights in Val. Additionally, I want to increase chalk, marker, and stapler supplies in the Science Center and Frost. I’d be honored to represent ...
Christian Moore ’27
I want to run for Senate because I feel like the school’s constituencies are not as optimized as they could be, and I want to make them better. One of the most baffling things to me as a student is walking into Val for dinner, seeing a line backed up out of the door, and realizing only one station serves food. If elected, I would work with Val dining services to redirect workers to certain high-usage stations to ensure things operate more smoothly. If elected, I promise to be a pair of ears to the students of Amherst College and ...
Benjamin Henry ’27
My name is Benjamin Henry, class of 2027, and I’m running for Senate to advocate for student-led progress. Over my time at Amherst, I’ve seen our community’s strengths and areas for growth. I am committed to ensuring that every student’s voice is heard and meaningful change happens. As your representative, I will work to enhance academic and social experiences, foster inclusivity, and address key concerns. Whether improving resources, organizing events, or strengthening student-leadership communication, I’m ready to make a difference. Your vote is for a stronger, more connected Amherst. Let’s move forward together.
Luke Bardetti ’27
My name is Luke Bardetti, and I am thrilled to be a candidate to represent the class of 2027 on AAS. I am passionate about making our campus a more connected community, and my primary focus is bolstering participation in campus events.
I hope to hold outdoor basketball and pickleball tournaments in the spring, Jeopardy and game show nights, and karaoke nights.
Further, I will work to gather student feedback and plan events based on your interests and ideas. I am committed to ensuring that every student feels included and excited to be part of campus life at Amherst!
Joey Supik ’27
Hi everyone, my name’s Joey! I love talking with people within our class and beyond, and my goals as a senator would reflect this theme of connectivity. I want to create events and spaces that allow for cross-class connections and possibly more mentorship opportunities that are for students by students. One idea is a luncheon that brings all the current students who lived in the same FY dorm room together, prompting possibilities for friendship and sharing college experiences. I’d be very grateful to serve our class if given the chance. A vote for Joey is a vote for you!
