Bub's Player of the Week: Tomas Morrissey '08

XC runners qualified for the National Championship Meet.

Tomas Morrissey’s season-long goal was to make it this far;

And last week’s regional competition was the final bar.

The best teams and individuals got the nod to advance,

Only the fastest runners ever stood a chance.

Colleges from all over New England entered the race,

But Morrissey had no fear-he brought his game face.

In 25:30.5 he completed the five-mile course,

To the people he passed, Morrissey showed no remorse.

Traveling in the front pack, the sophomore grabbed the seventh slot,

With his gutsy performance, Morrissey earned his spot.

Against the best in the country Morrissey will put it all on the line;

This Jeff will be great, now that he has his chance to shine.
