First Amherst Pride Festival Recruits
The Queer Resource Center is organizing Amherst’s first outdoor pride festival for April 2025 to celebrate LGBTQ+ students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The festival will feature queer art vendors, queer/trans yoga, a student, staff, and faculty art exhibition, and more. The QRC is currently looking for students to help plan the event — the interest form is due Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 11:59 a.m.
Glow in the Dark Rave
The Association of Amherst Students and The Student Engagement and Leadership are hosting a glow-in-the-dark rave this Homecoming weekend on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Webster Circle. The event is exclusive to Amherst students. Drinks will be provided for 21+ students with an Amherst ID.
CHI Salon Literature and the Senses
The CHI Salon is hosting a discussion of Jonas Roesnbrück’s new book, “Common Scents: Poetry, Modernity, and a Revolution of the Senses” this Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 4:30 p.m. in the Lyceum. In the book, Roesnbrück traces the appearance of odors in modern German and French poetry, and brings them into dialogue with literary criticism, theories of modernity, and political philosophy.
