Town Brief: Florence Savings Bank branch robbed early Saturday morning

“He handed the teller a note saying that he had a gun and wanted all the money,” said Lieutenant Patenaude of the Northampton Police Department. Vice president of Florence Savings Bank Doug Burr, director of marketing, explained that the teller and other bank employees followed typical bank safety protocol, despite the fact that the robber managed to escape.

Patenaude said that there are not yet any leads in the case. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, neither Patenaude nor Burr were able to provide details about the investigation.
