GOTCHA! The terror and paranoia continues, but with some new players introduced to the scene. The Master Assassins, a band of anonymous rogues, will now be patrolling the lawns, buildings and other once safe spaces of Amherst College. “Gotcha!” This word is sending a wave of paranoia across campus. Students are running to and from classes to avoid getting “got.” Other students can be seen outside buildings waiting for their victims, with guns at the ready. Has Amherst created a new class in stalking? Nope. The Social Council has sponsored a campus-wide game of Gotcha! in which every player is issued a water gun and the name of another player to “get.” Each player must track down and shoot the person he is assigned to “get.”

When middle and high school students in the program began to work together on their own plots, a group called Protectores de la Tierra (Protectors of the Earth) formed. This youth group has been instrumental in keeping the program running. The Front Room was hit by a storm on Thursday night-a Brainstorm, in fact. The Program Board sponsored a trivia competition complete with cash prizes, t-shirts and a host falling rather short of the Alex Trebek standard. The competition was stiff, and it was anyone’s game right up to the last question. The teams had fantastic names such as the Psychics, the Zonkers, the Smarties and the Minute Men.
