Mammoth Moments in Miniature provides quick updates on campus happenings. This week’s edition includes an alum talk by Beebee the Mammoth, a Pickle-Ball tournament, and a rural retreat to Williamstown.
Alum Talk: Beebee the Mammoth on Coeducation
Beebee Collossall ’76, first cousin of the resident mammoth of the Beneski Museum Bebu, is coming to campus on Thursday to deliver an alumni lecture on what coeducation means to her. From 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Beneski, alongside her beloved relative, Collossall will discuss the trials and triumphs as a member of the first coed graduating class at the college.
Pickle-ball Tournament
On Friday, Amherst College will compete against Williams College in a pickle-ball tournament, where the ball will be replaced by actual pickled cucumbers. Amherst will generously provide the luxurious Pamela Anderson x Flamingo Estate “Garden in a Jar” Spicy Rose Pickles sponsored by Grillo’s Pickles for the competition.
Williamstown Rural Outdoor Trip
On Saturday, the Office of Wellbeing and Outdoor Initiatives will hold an off-campus trip to Williamstown, MA. Students will engage in an immersive rural experience, where they will milk local cows and learn from Williams College students’ expertise in pasture management and dairy product studies. Registered students will meet at 1 p.m. at the Converse Hall parking lot.
