MIT Professor Speaks on Feng Shui and Law in China
On Thursday, April 11 at 4 p.m., Professor Tristan Brown will present on the topic of Fengshui and its impact on Chinese law in the midst of the host of issues that the nation faced in the 19th century. The lecture, which will be held in Fayerweather 113, will address how “engagement with fengshui on the ground helped the imperial state keep the peace and maintain its legitimacy.”
Professors Discuss MFA Experiences
The English department will be holding a panel discussion on Thursday at 5 p.m., featuring department professors, to provide students interested in creative writing with insight into the process of obtaining a Master of Fine Arts degree. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions following the presentation.
Comedian Sam Morrison Comes to Amherst
Sam Morrison, a Brooklyn-based comedian who has appeared on shows such as “Late Night With Seth Meyers” and “The Drew Barrymore Show,” will be performing in the Friedman Room on Thursday at 8 p.m., in the Eighmy Powerhouse.
