Emily Dickinson’s 194th Birthday

Tuesday, Dec. 10, was Emily Dickinson’s 194th birthday. To celebrate, the Emily Dickinson Museum hosted a virtual birthday celebration, where they discussed what it takes to recreate a historic structure in light of the recent start of reconstruction of The Evergreens Carriage House. Jane and Robert Keiter Family Executive Director Jane Wald and other special guests explored using archaeology to design an environmentally passive building while still being historically sensitive. They also read special birthday messages for Emily Dickinson sent by fans worldwide.

The Indicator Launch Party

Campus literary magazine The Indicator will hold its semesterly launch party on Thursday, Dec. 12, in the Lyceum. The magazine will celebrate the publication of its Fall 2024 issue, “Snack Time!” Attendees will be able to pick up a free issue, hear live readings of written pieces, and sign each other’s issues yearbook-style. The dress code will be “Dressed Like A Snack.”

Hanukkah Flavor Fest

This year’s Hanukkah Flavor Fest will take place this Friday, Dec. 13, in Valentine Terrace Rooms A and B. The event will feature a head-to-head duel between two treats: Boston’s finest latke and sufganiyot (jelly donuts). Students are encouraged to taste test and decide which of the two flavors should be crowned the winner of the annual festive food showdown.
