Mammoth Moments in Miniature provides quick updates on campus happenings. This week’s edition includes a community circle held by the Center for Restorative Practices, National Girls and Women in Sports Day, and a virtual workshop on conflict management.

Community Circle: Reflecting on the National Moment

On Wednesday, Feb. 4, the Center for Restorative Practices will host a 60-minute circle where students, staff, and faculty can share how current events are impacting their lives and how mutual care can be cultivated. All are welcome to share their heavy thoughts, feelings, and concerns in the Porter Lounge of Converse Hall from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. 

National Girls and Women in Sports Day

National Girls and Women in Sports Day will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the Alumni Gym. This event welcomes girls and non-binary youth in grades 4-8 for a full day of sports and fitness, led by women athletes from Amherst College’s sports teams. Amherst College staff, faculty, and students are encouraged to register their youth!

How Do I Handle Conflict in the Heat of the Moment: A Restorative Approach

On Tuesday, Feb. 10, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., join experts in conflict transformation for a virtual workshop that will provide tangible skills for navigating conflict in the workplace. Registration is required for this event.
