Point/Counterpoint Series Features New York Times Columnist
The first event of this year’s Point/Counterpoint series Progress will feature New York Times Opinion columnist and podcast host Ross Douthat on Nov. 14. Moderated by Rachel and Michael Deutch Professor of Philosophy Alexander George and Nishi Shah, the event will explore the question of whether the world is a better place today than it was 50 years ago.
Latin Grammy Winner to Perform at Drake
Seven-String guitarist Yamandu Costa, a Brazilian musician and Latin Grammy winner who has played with symphonies worldwide, will be performing at The Drake on Nov. 15. Limited standing-room-only tickets will be available at the door on performance night.
Registrations Open for College’s Annual Speaking Competition
The college has begun accepting registrations for its annual speaking competition, this year focused on the theme of belonging. Students interested in participating in the event, which is open to all class years, can fill out a registration form through the Daily Mammoth. As part of the registration process, students will also be required to submit a brief proposal describing their potential ideas for their persuasive speech.
