Creativity On Trial: How AI Is Raising New Challenges For Copyright Law
At 5 p.m. today in Kirkpatrick Lecture Hall, art lawyer Kate Lucas will give a talk on how the rise of artificial intelligence is raising questions and pushing conversations about fundamental copyright laws, such as copyrightability, infringement, and fair use. Lucas will explore how the courts, creative industries, and tech companies are applying copyright law to AI.
If We Don't Get It — A Book Celebration for Professor Stefan Bradley
On Thursday, Oct. 9, at 4:30 p.m. in Cooper 101, there will be a celebration for Professor of Black Studies and History Stefan M. Bradley. Bradley’s new book, "If We Don’t Get It,’’ discusses how Michael Brown’s murder influenced Black youth led grassroots movement for democracy that altered how we talk about race, justice, and policing in the United States.
Everything You Need to Know About Homelessness — and Didn’t Think to Ask
CEO of Community Solutions and Life Trustee Rosanne Haggerty ’82, H’03 and Santa Fe Mayor, author, editor, and consultant Alan Webber ’70 will host a virtual in-depth discussion on the homelessness crisis today at 7 p.m. The conversation will shed light on the practical challenges of reducing homelessness and delivering improved services for people experiencing homelessness. The speakers will also outline solutions to homelessness that they have implemented in communities.
