With Honors: Mike Wohl '07 and Kristin Quinn '07

Forward Wohl scored three goals in two games over the weekend for the men’s soccer team. The sophomore sharpshooter tallied a goal and an assist against Roger Williams University on Sunday to help give Amherst a 3-0 win. However, he was even more stellar in the team’s overtime win over Trinity College on Saturday. Wohl scored in the fourth minute of the match to put the Jeffs on top. Then, with six minutes remaining and Amherst down by one, he found the back of the net to send the game into overtime.

Kristin Quinn ’07

Outside hitter Quinn won tournament MVP honors at the Western New England College Invitational Volleyball Tournament while leading Amherst to a team win and a 4-0 record to start the season. Quinn was outstanding, tallying 57 kills and 19 digs over the course of the weekend. She was particularly stellar in the win over Framingham State College. She had an astounding 17 kills in the match and added five blocks. Quinn, the 2003 NESCAC Rookie of the Year, has shown that she’s headed for anything but a sophomore slump.
