Quad-captain Ladd ended his stellar career on Saturday with a touchdown on 34 carries for 179 yards, pushing Amherst past rival Williams College and securing the Little Three Title for the Jeffs. Last year’s NESCAC Rookie of the Year, sophomore outside hitter Kristin Quinn, was named NESCAC Player of the Week on Oct. 11 for her outstanding play in the trio of wins over Bowdoin, Bates and Colby Colleges, in which she totaled a phenomenal 42 kills and 11 blocks on the Maine trip. Volleyball: Firedogs fight mightily at Wesleyan Invitational

The ‘Dogs’ first game, a rematch against host Wesleyan on Friday, ended in a disappointing loss after four games (30-27, 30-23, 22-30, 30-24). The ‘Dogs had previously beaten the Cardinals in a NESCAC match on Sept. 18. First-year standout outside hitter Jaclyn DeMais anchored the offense with 10 kills and four digs to aid the defense.
