While most of the student body went home for Thanksgiving, 11 of the college’s athletic teams competed over the break. Highlights include men’s soccer advancing to the Final Four; an impressive cross-country nationals performance; and undefeated starts for several teams.

Amherst men’s hockey earned two wins this weekend, rallying to complete a late comeback to take down Wesleyan 3-2 in overtime, then defeating No. 11 Trinity by the same score. The team’s second win of the weekend was head coach Jack Arena’s ’83 500th career win.
The men’s hockey team has started the season well, going 2-1-1 in their first four games. Ben Kuzma ’25 leads the team with seven total points and earned NESCAC Player of the Week for his efforts.
In their third meeting with Williams of the season, the men’s hockey team fell to the Ephs in the quarterfinals of the NESCAC tournament, ending their season with a final record of 9-13-2.
