With Honors: Flethcher Ladd '05E and Justin Macione '07
Quad-captain Ladd ended his stellar career on Saturday with a touchdown on 34
carries for 179 yards, pushing Amherst past rival Williams College and securing
the Little Three Title for the Jeffs. His efforts at tailback earned him the
NESCAC Offensive Player of the Week award for the second time
Jeffs ready to bounce back vs. Ephs
After starting the year off with an impressive 5-0 record, the Lord Jeffs have
struggled recently. Two weeks ago, Amherst dropped a 10-3 heartbreaker to Tufts
University on Family Weekend, and last week NESCAC powerhouse Trinity College
defeated the Jeffs, 31-7.

making 5-0 impressive with football’s season almost through.
The Jeffs have three games left to play and they’re sure to be tough,
with Marsh Moseley at the helm, though, Amherst’s good enough.
This weekend against Wesleyan, Moseley was sublime,
he’d passed for three touchdowns before halftime.

“Our Saturday score was the best of the season, and it was the first time that
all four of our scores were in the 80s,” said Head Coach Jim Plumer. “But in
general, we just couldn’t put two good rounds together, which really has been
the case all season.
Field hockey concedes four consecutive losses
At Middlebury, the undefeated Panthers got their first goal at less than six
minutes into the first period as Lauryn Nicasio scored off a feed from Claire
Edelen. Edelen scored next off a rebounded shot taken by Middlebury junior
Ashley Lyddane. With less than three minutes of play left in

The men had a solid team performance at the Open, finishing in 19th place with
493 points. Co-captain seniors Matt Katz and Dave Molina led the way, placing
47th and 61st with times of 25:49 and 26:02, respectively, out of the field of
