On Friday, March 15, two shootings occurred at two separate mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand while attendees participated in Friday prayer. Fifty people were killed and at least 50 more were injured in New Zealand’s largest massacre in modern history. College to Go Carbon Neutral by 2030

On Jan. 24, the Board of Trustees voted to approve the Climate Action Plan (CAP), committing the college to carbon neutrality by 2030. Work on the CAP has been ongoing since 2015, when the Office of Sustainability called on Amherst to set a date for carbon neutrality. The decision is a result of student activism over the years.
