Bub's Player of the Week: Adrienne Showler '05
Bub’s loves a squeaker of a win, and this was certainly no kill.
The score was tied 2-2; not much time on the clock,
it looked like overtime to play until there came a shock.

And then the tide turned for Amherst. The women would not lose again in the
month of September, nor would they drop a game in the NESCAC. Amherst earned the
second seed in the NESCAC Tournament, where the team won two overtime,
penalty-kick thrillers to advance to the finals. In

The Jeffs finished the fall and spring seasons with a record of 8-6. Last fall,
the team went 2-1 in dual match play and also won the ECAC North Championships.
Though the spring was less successful, Amherst will look to bounce back this
fall with a solid core of returning
Firedogs set the bar high for 2004
On Oct. 24, the Firedogs were 23-3 and ranked fifth in New England. They had not
lost a match in three weeks, and their only conference loss had come at the
hands of a talented Williams College squad in mid-September. The winning streak

Spring teams make splash nationally
Women’s Tennis
The women’s tennis team had one of its best seasons ever, advancing to the NCAA
finals for the first time since 1999 before falling to Emory University. Amherst
tied with Williams College for the conference title and Kristen Raverta ’06 took
the conference singles championship outright.
