Recognizing Anti-Palestinian Racism: A Workshop on Creating Awareness and Understanding — Student Workshop
On Wednesday in the Friedmann Room from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., join the Institute for the Understanding of Anti-Palestinian Racism (IUAPR) for a workshop focused on Anti-Palestinian Racism, how it operates, and its impact on individuals, communities, and institutions like Amherst College. The workshop will be 90 minutes long to help participants identify and understand the manifestations of Anti-Palestinian racism and its impacts. Dinner will be provided by Masuda’s Cafe. The event will be hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Office of Student Affairs. Registration is required.
24-Hour Healing Fire for Survivors of Sexual Violence
On Thursday, Health & Wellbeing Education, the Peer Educators, and the Native & Indigenous Students’ Association invite survivors, families of survivors, and supporters are invited to the 10th Annual 24-Hour Healing Fire for Survivors of Sexual Violence on from 12 p.m. through Friday, at 12 p.m. on the First Year Quad (near the entrance to Frost Library) as a closure to Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This is a confidential space, and attendants are asked to please respect the privacy of fellow attendees.
Knowledge in the Post-AI World: An Interactive Workshop
On Friday, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Chapin Hall Chapel, join AISA (AI Safety at Amherst) and AILA (AI in the Liberal Arts) to discuss the question: How is AI changing the way we learn, think, and produce knowledge? The workshop will include games, 1/1 pairings, and small-group discussions. The goal is to bring diverse perspectives to discuss how knowledge acquisition and production have changed and should look in a post-AI world. Registration is required.
