Mammoth Moments in Miniature provides quick updates on campus happenings. This week’s edition features signing panels for the New Student Center, Maple Tree Tapping at Book & Plow, and National Girls & Women in Sports Day.
Signing the New Student Center
To celebrate a major construction milestone in the new Student Center & Dining Commons, students are invited to sign one of the timber panels that will be installed in the building. The signing will take place on Feb. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. by the Greenways near the Science Center. Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided.
Maple Tree Tapping at Book & Plow
The Book & Plow will kick off its fourth consecutive maple sugaring season by tapping trees on the farm, on Feb. 8 from 1 to 3 p.m. Students should meet at the greenhouse at 1 p.m., and no experience is necessary.
National Girls & Women in Sports Day
Amherst College’s Department of Athletics is partnering with the town and the Amherst Recreation Department to celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day on Feb. 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Alumni Gym. Women’s sports teams at Amherst will teach girls in fourth-seventh grade to explore a variety of sports.
