“Resurgency: Outlasting the War on Terror in Iraq” with Dr. Kali Rubaii
On Wednesday, cultural anthropologist Dr. Kali Rubaii will discuss her 2026 book “Resurgency: Outlasting the War on Terror in Iraq.” Rubaii will discuss how the long-lasting war has affected everyday life in the country, the return of displaced communities to their homes, and the consequences of the conflict. The talk will take place in Room 201 in the Aliki Perroti & Seth Frank Lyceum, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.,
God Bless the Pill!
Professor of Women and Gender Studies and Jewish Studies at University of Colorado Boulder Samira K. Mehta will travel to campus on Wednesday to discuss her 2026 book “God Bless the Pill: The Surprising History of Contraception and Sexuality in American Religion.” She will discuss the complicated relationship between birth control and Catholicism, Protestantism, and Judaism. The talk will take place in Fayerweather Hall 115.
Virtual Buzz at Alumni Pub
On Wednesday, the event “Virtual Buzz” will be held at the Alumni Pub, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Attendees will have the chance to have an alcohol-free evening while playing games, experiencing a simulated virtual alcohol buzz, and learning more about how alcohol affects the brain, body, and decision-making. It will be a chance to hang out, have fun, and explore what impairment feels like without actually drinking.
