Mammoth Moments in Miniature provides quick updates on campus happenings. This week’s edition includes a No Kings Protest, the Thomas P. Whitney Collection Opening Reception, and Five College Dance Orientation Concert.
No Kings Day
On Sept. 12, Brattleboro, Vt. will host another No Kings march. Protesters will march from the park between Brattleboro food co-op and the Brattleboro art museum to the Town Common. If more than 1000 people attend the demonstration, they will march in the street. If fewer people attend, the march will take place on the sidewalk.
“My beautiful, pitiful age”: Thomas P. Whitney Collection Opening Reception
An opening reception for the Thomas P. Whitney Collection exhibition will be held on Thursday. It will start at 4 p.m. at the Russian Center's gallery and transition to the Mead Art Museum at 5 p.m. The collection includes Orthodox icons, paintings, drawings, rare books and manuscripts, prints, and sculptures from the Russian Empire and Soviet Union. Light refreshments will be provided.
Five College Dance Orientation Concert
In celebration of the new academic year, Five College faculty will perform at the Orientation Concert on Friday at the Kirby Memorial Theater. Attendees will get to enjoy the choreography, meet dance faculty and peers across campuses, and inquire about course selections. Pizza will be offered after the performances and the event will be open to the public.
