An officer observed a group in an area that was restricted from use by caution tape and cones. The group left the area before the officer to speak with them.

An officer assisted the town police with a vehicle stuck under a bridge.

9:55 a.m., Kirby Drive

An officer responded to a report of an individual driving at a high rate of speed near a construction site. The officer spoke with the individual.

An officer assisted the town police with traffic as a result of a fallen tree.

4:13 p.m., Moore

Officers responded to an individual stuck in the elevator. The individual was later released.

An officer received a report of past harassing behavior.

9:25 a.m., Churchill House 5 College

An officer placed a ticket on a vehicle parking on campus repeatedly and not registered with the College.

An officer took a report of a window broken from a rock being thrown through it.

7:55 p.m., Webster Circle

An officer observed an unattended vehicle with a door left open. No one was in the area and there were no issues found when the owners returned.

3:39 p.m., Woodside/Northampton Road

The Town of Amherst Police Department charged Cakia Catwell of 12 Amherst Street, Springfield, MA with being under the age of 21 and in possession of alcohol.

Environmental Health and Safety and an officer responded to an alarm and found it was set off by cut wires.

CSOs assisted an individual attempting to gain access to a building and their room.

10:34 p.m., Humphries House

An officer observed an unattended vehicle in a lot of a vacant building. There were no issues found.

An officer responded to an alarm and found it was set off by a bat. The bat was caught and then freed from the building.

An officer took a report of a minor motor vehicle crash with no injuries.

Officers responded to a report of people on the roof. The group left upon officers' request, because the area is not permitted for use.

An individual not permitted to be on campus requested access to a building. The individual was denied access.

Residential Life staff responded to a report of a loud group gathered.

Officers responded to a report of a stolen shirt. Officers located the individuals involved and returned the shirt to the owner.

Officers responded to an alarm and found two individuals entered a vacant building without permission.

An officer assisted a motorist with a disabled motor vehicle.

11:58 a.m., College Street

Joseph Mangano of 24 Ackerly Lane, Lake Ronkonkoma, NY was arrested for two warrants for their arrest and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Licence.

An officer responded to a complaint of music and a loud group gathered.

An individual was issued a Notice of No Trespass from Amherst College property.

9:34 a.m., Pratt Field

An officer took a report of a past motor vehicle accident where there was significant damage to a gate and the operator left the area and failed to report the crash.

An officer took a report of an individual sending harassing emails and phone calls to numerous individuals on campus.

An officer responded to the town police department to assist with an individual they had under arrest.

An officer spoke with two individuals on the roof which is a prohibited area. They left the area without issue.

An officer responded to an alarm and found it was a pull station activated with no active fire.

An officer spoke with two individuals not affiliated with the College and they left the area after being reminded no guests were permitted on campus.

An officer responded to a report of an individual yelling and possibly in distress as a result of an argument. There were no issues and the two were sent on their way.

An officer responded to a report of individuals in the area near construction. The group was leaving prior to the officers' arrival and were found to be employees.

Residential Life staff reported vandalism of an exit sign and addressed the individual that broke it.

8:08 p.m., Campus Grounds

An officer observed a group walking into the woods and heard music playing in the direction they walked. It is unknown where they ultimately went from there.

An officer observed a broken cable that was initially used to block an entrance.

6:52 a.m., Valentine Loading Dock

An officer responded to a report that an individual trespassed from the College was on campus. The individual was not found in the area.

An officer took a report of a stolen sign. The sign was later recovered.

An officer took a report of a stolen bike.

5:21 p.m., Campus Grounds

EH&S responded to a report of a bird in distress. The bird was relocated to the woods.

CSAs and a CSO addressed a group gathered and refused to follow COVID guidelines.

Officers responded to a large group gathered at a tent. The group dispersed.

Community Safety Ambassadors, Residential Life staff, and an officer responded to a request to address individuals not affiliated with the College and violating COVID guidelines.

10:09 p.m., College Street

An officer responded to a report of an individual rummaging through a bag and leaving something behind. A muffler was found in the area and there were no issues.

10:11 p.m., Greenway

An officer responded to a report of non-Amherst College students using the Greenway Basketball court. The group left upon the officer's arrival.

An officer observed an unauthorized use of a College dumpster. No one was found in the area.

1:14 a.m., Plimpton

An officer observed a group of people inside a building that was supposed to be vacant. The group left the area upon the officer's request.

5:33 a.m., Farm Lane

An officer observed an open storage container and no one in the area. The officer closed the container.

2:55 p.m., New Science Center

The Detective followed up with an individual that reported stalking.

7:15 p.m., Memorial Hill

A CSO responded to a report of individuals not affiliated with the College riding bicycles in the Quadrangle. They were asked to leave campus.

8:22 a.m., Keefe Campus Center

An officer took a report of an individual receiving continuous unwanted calls and electronic contact. The individual was offered various options to address this.

A Community Service Officer and officers responded to a report of loud music and a large gathering. The group dispersed upon their arrival.

12:32 a.m., Book and Plow Farm

An officer observed a group gathered with alcohol. Upon seeing the officer, they left the area.

2:09 a.m., Campus Grounds

An officer responded to a report of loud music. The group dispersed.

An officer responded to a report from a motorist that nearly hit someone skateboarding into the road. Two people skateboarding were advised to move from the dangerous area.

8:18 p.m., Campus Grounds

A CSO addressed a group playing a drinking game. The group dispersed. An officer stood by in the area in case their assistance was needed.

Residential Life staff, CSAs, CSOs, and officers responded to a large unauthorized party with alcohol and not following COVID guidelines. The group was dispersed.
