Where Do Departments Stand on FGO?

Over 85 percent of departments will unconditionally accept a “pass” grade towards major requirements this semester, as pictured in the pie chart above. Graphic courtesy of Natalie De Rosa ’21.

On March 26, the college announced that it would expand its Flexible Grading Option (FGO) for this semester only to accommodate students during the coronavirus pandemic. Whether a “pass” grade declared through FGO will count towards major requirements, however, is left at the discretion of individual departments. The Student has compiled a list of every department’s FGO policy. Departments listed as “unconfirmed” have not responded to The Student by press time; this article will be updated as new information arrives.
