as a matter of fact, Bub’s broke out the champagne! A Homecoming win on our home turf, who could ask for more? the 2004 season will go down in Amherst lore. The heroes were many, the Jeffs played their hearts out- it was difficult for Bub’s to choose

The Jeffs return five of the six swimmers who contributed to their seventh-place finish at the 2004 NCAA Div. III Championships. Though they lost national champion Mike Pohorylo ’04 to graduation, Bryan Woo ’06 and John Ancona ’07 join All-Americans Ethan Treat ’07 and Rick Estacio ’06 for another year

making 5-0 impressive with football’s season almost through. The Jeffs have three games left to play and they’re sure to be tough, with Marsh Moseley at the helm, though, Amherst’s good enough. This weekend against Wesleyan, Moseley was sublime, he’d passed for three touchdowns before halftime.

While the rest of the student body enjoyed fall break, the men made a two-day swing to Rhode Island on Oct. 8 to face Div. III opponents Roger Williams and Salve Regina Universities. Neither team gave the Jeffs much of a match, as Amherst came away with an 8-0 win

and Bub’s thinks this season will be the same story. undefeated in the NESCAC-three wins and three ties, if their record stays unblemished, Bub’s won’t be surprised. Against Colby Saturday, one Jeff showed real grit- with two assists and a goal, by her the scoreboard was lit.

Babkes won his first- and second-round matches in straight sets, defeating Mark Egan of MIT and Ted Haley of Williams College 6-3, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-1, respectively. Babkes’ next three opponents hailed from defending national champion and NESCAC rival Middlebury College. Ari Beilin managed to take a set from Babkes
